A day went by.    Marcin, out of nowhere told me – there’s something about that one.   Let’s get her.    I looked at him and said that she was posted yesterday; they put down dogs starting at 6am; we might be too late!!!   So the frantic rush against the clock started;   calling the shelter is a total nightmare;  they are understaffed and have so many animals to care for;  getting through took hours.     I asked for her by her ID;  those dogs on that list aren’t up for adoptions; they are in cages waiting to die.     Nobody knows about them other than the workers and volunteers.   Now, that’s where URGENT comes into play.    An organization which helps those dogs be seen by the world.    All started by one woman with a heart!   There are few locations of ACC in New York; and thanks to volunteers and good souls;  some animals from the death row are saved.    Most of the dogs on THAT list don’t have a chance; they are either old or bully breeds – they are put on there due to things as simple and treatable as a cold [but it's not all ACC's fault; hundreds of animals go through their doors - they simply don't have the means to save them all -yes, can something be done about it?  you bet!  but let's not get into the politics of this now].   Back to our story.   A kind voice told me; she’s still there to come get her quick.   It was late by the time we got through the shelter.   Next morning we took off to Brooklyn with Luna [they have to meet and see if they can get along]  and got her.    She’s sick, tired and severely underweight but she has the most gentle deep gaze and just craves closeness of people; although very very scared.    Shows HOW DEEP the love of K9 goes toward humans; it amazes me each time she puts her head on my lap and looks into my eyes with her sad ones.

Rest assure, little girl, no more sadness for you.

So, if you’re on facebook and have the heart, like the page of “Urgent”  and even if you’re not planning to get a dog [yes, it's a big responsibility and one should be 100% sure that they have the time and heart for 10+ years to give a soul life it deserves]   but if you re-post the dogs and the notes about kill shelters in the city;  sometime in the future we can make a difference and stop the senseless killings.

This time of year…while sitting with our cups of coffee, hot coco or wine [or whatever your heart desires to drink] we appreciate life.   We are thankful.   In this joyous time, there’s also a bit of sadness or melancholy in me….  realization of how years are passing us by.    I tend to think about my life’s journey; my sorrows and tears, my success and happiness.   I appreciate life as it is.  My life.   I grow as a person, each year… I learn new things about myself and others… I appreciate family and people around me more and more with each passing day.

I grow as an artist….longing for perfection, pouring my soul out with every step I take… hoping I will never grow out of wanting to explore, push myself, elevate.   I grow as a business person…a business woman… taking our business, step by step, to new heights.

This time of year, I appreciate all my struggles,  my hard work,  hardships.     I smile.    I know, it’s all part of life.   A wonderful life I call my own.    I appreciate experience and want to push each year further and further….I want to grow…

I want to thank Marcin for being there for me. always.  Growing our business together has been the best thing that happened to me.   It excites me beyond words what we can do next year, and the year after.   Shooting and living, for us go together hand in hand, it’s our lifestyle, passion and love.     Couldn’t ask for more.   Thank you!

We are extreemly humbled by this project. Angler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary is a 120-acre preserved farm located in Warren County, New Jersey, is a wildlife rehabilitation center that provides vital care and treatment to sick, injured or orphaned wildlife. There are so many stories to be told of this place but we aren’t the best writers; those stories will be dear to our hearts and we hope our love and passion for all animals and humans on this earth shines through this little slide-show.

WE WELCOME YOUR COMMENTS

We are bit tired and sore, but can’t express our satisfaction and joy; we feel fulfilled.      Say what you want, three days of shooting [and one good bike workout] over straight four days is challenging but to be part of wedding celebrations that take us throughout the world and different cultures is the most rewarding thing that could happen to us.    Recently we had a great consultation over skype [yup, that's right!]with potential clients; we are always asked if we shot this or that type of wedding and our answer is always the same; we don’t specialize in any type of weddings but in PEOPLE in LOVE!  Needles to say, this couple chose us to be their wedding photographers and we coulnt’ be more humbled…no..no…no…..thrilled!

So, here are two [actually three] frames from this weekend.

First one from touching Nikah from Natasha and Talib’s wedding in Princeton, NJ.

Second one from Shoshanna and Ari’s ceremony in a beautiful Temple Israel of Lawrence in, Long Island NY.

Third photo is also of Shoshanna and Ari during their portraits;   happened that Marcin and I stood side by side for a second and snapped few frames;  Ari said that he wished he had a camera to take photo of us standing there so cute together.     I adore his comment and Ari playing around and “snapping” photos of us.    I think, this photo is indirectly of us; this is  how we interact with our clients and how we make them feel.   It warms our hearts.
