We just came back from a wonderful trip over southern Texas. This trip was full of sun, nature, sweet people and laughs. It was all fun and happiness; although a lot of work was done; we shot a wedding and engagement party, on the way to dinner one day witnessed a surprise proposal [and shot it!], watched beautiful sunset at the beach, drank amazing wine from the Hill Country, tasted the best tacos ever, drank too many margaritas, listen to live music in one of the oldest bars [or rather they call them dance halls] in TX, brainstormed about life and business with our BFFs Anahi + Edgar, hang out with three crazy dogs [only one of them was really crazy though] and they are truly the sweetest things on earth! Hang out with a clients who’s wedding Anahi and I shot four years ago and got to taste her amazingly rich Chubby Cookies. It was great work vacation and we are super excited that through being a wedding photographers, we get to travel and meet amazing people in this world and make life long friends.

This is Kodak Petite, a tiny cute camera made 1929 and 1933, those came in five different colors and were such a chic accessory for the ladies! Isn’t it precious? I found this one, in green, at an antique camera show. I collect few vintage cameras here and there; but nothing too serious – this is for fun only but gives me so much joy…. this little lady is so lovely….

We thought long and hard about what could we add to our branding that would make it even more us yet not change things too much [we like simplicity!]. So at first this was Marcin’s idea some time ago, then while doing my usual research, jumping from page to page, topic to topic [my usual ADD while in front of computer] many months later… I stumbled upon this guy, Justo from Plasticoyplanet.com who does pretty cool drawings and we fell in love with it. I never thought he’d say yes as I dreamed of commissioning him to draw us! Well, he did and we’re completely in love with our characters which will have permanent home in our branding.

I read a little read today that had a perfect timing. We work hard, dream big and it’s all good – we love it but it’s good to stop for a minute and appreciate yourself, your accomplishments in the light of your life NOT based on what’s happening with your friends, coworkers, people you admire, your industry etc. Read this inspirational/business tip from Leila of Inspired by This and don’t let the grass be always greener on the other side.
